J.P. Hairpins is a legacy company that has been serving the hair accessories industry for more than six decades. Boasting a PAN India presence with export quality product ranges, J.P. Hairpins have a presence in every woman’s household.
With a vision to empower every woman to feel beautiful with their hair, J.P. Hairpins had a humble beginning in 1956 on a 2×3 bakda bench at Kalbadevi market. Starting this venture at the age of 16, Rameshbhai Jhaveri eventually expanded the business with consistent research, product innovation and increasing distribution to slowly become the only trusted word in the market for hair accessories.
Today, J.P. Hairpins is proud to be present all across India with distribution networks at the remotest parts of the country, a diverse portfolio of clients and network channels, with exports in Middle Eastern and South-West Asian countries.
The origin of J.P. Hairpins goes back to early 1956, when Rameshbhai Jhaveri decided to start a business in an industry that didn’t exist. He saw an opportunity in an under-served need of women’s accessories – hairpins.
At the age of only 16, Rameshbhai started a humble trading business on a 2×3 foot ‘bakda bench’ in the Kalbadevi market. With his quick grasp of customers’ needs and the huge gap that existed in this industry, he used the power of product innovation to position J.P. as the go-to player for all hairpin products.
With multiple trials and errors, he went on to create the first-ever batch of superior-quality hair clips and hairpins.
Instrumental in this journey was his wife, Late Smt. Hansaben Jhaveri. She joined the business at the age of 18 and pioneered the research and testing of new products. She collected prompt feedback by distributing products to the women of their housing colony, to improve the quality and design of products.
She also championed the cause of ‘Nari Shakti’ by providing household women with jobs of assembling and packaging goods. She helped them gain a sense of purpose and monetary fulfilment in their lives. Today, more than 5000+ women are employed with the company.
Over time, the business kept growing with a variety of new product ranges. The next generation of the Jhaveri family, Nileshbhai and Kalpeshbhai joined the business to expand, as they doubled their efforts for distribution beyond Maharashtra.
Today, with more than 150 export-quality product ranges, we have the largest distribution presence across India and export to 10 countries across the world. The business is now helmed by Rameshbhai’s grandsons – the millennial generation of the family – Jigar, Rohan, and Parakh, carrying forward the legacy of 67 years.
